summer hair, forever young
yay yay yay! this beach trip definitely MADE my summer. after spending pre-summer classes being really lame and reading six books, and sending the first week of summer class in hard-on hospital duty, i finally got to spend a day at the beaaaach! (yes beaaaach i'm still so goddamn giddy about it that i had to multiply the a's.) it took me four of my friends and our restless determination to meet up one thursday at 5 in morning to take a three-hour ride to a totally kick-ass beach i saw online. this is the kind of thing kids my age live for. with school eating up most of my time, days like these are gold.
we got a tan, drank amarula from plastic cups, explored the shoreline, took too many pictures, tanned out some more, and pigged out on the buffet.

sooo this was when my friends and i had a little post-finals house party at my friend's house. good times. early curfew. oh and the fringe on my top wont cooperate.

meet my doppleganger
what went down at one of our many school events, where losers choose to overdress and cool people choose not to attend. and us? well, we chose not to follow the dress code.
i actually had already planned a decent theme-appropriate outfit for this occasion. it was pure peer pressure that led me to unreasonably spend for a top that clearly channeled the 80s. it was actually the only time in a while where i bought something that wasn't pre-owned and smelled like mothballs. someone please get a hold of my money before i spend it all on another hideous pair of leather shorts from an ukay-ukay.

the summer has been spent waiting for something to happen. lying around in anticipation of what was or what wasn't to come. i've successfully pacified my wanderlust by daydreaming of snapshots of an imaginary beach trip somewhere far away with a psycho cool camera. i'm starting to feel like a fucking lisbon sister, on eternal house arrest, where my only escape would be suicide. this boredom will be the death of me.

summer '09 reminds me of the discovery of the dark side, awesome music passed among classmates, long breaks with friends in vain efforts of studying constantly interrupted by gossiping or joking, the absolutely untimely rain and flood in the middle of april and may, spending an hour in the morning running through at least 6 outfit changes for school, that horrible haircut i had, and one too many pictures taken.
i think i'm living too much in '09.
wonder what this summer will be like.

only later in the day did i realize that it was april 1st. but before i got started on pondering what a joke my life was, i checked out the cobrasnake's site instead. here i found exactly what i need to make life better.

GAAAAH! a big fat bag of shiny, bright, crazy colorful sticky stickers to fill my planner is EXACTLY what would lift my spirits in a time like this. if only i knew how to work the online market. i've never tried shopping online, and gawd knows how much of a handicap that is considered these days. i haven't got a clue in shit how i'm supposed to get my hands on these babies. does the cobrasnake ship to asia?

i've heard of this like a year ago, but only now did i bother to actually check the site out. i love that it's like one fabulous scrapbook of cute people who look like they're having the time of their lives. i've always loved scrapbooks.
ps: will i get sued for mangling them photos i found on another site? oh please oh please oh please don't sue me. i haven't got any money and i don't have any idea that editing pictures from another site is illegal. :(

having a grand time discovering how to take pictures of light tricks.
it's weird how i'm always itching to leave the house and go out, when the most inspiring and interesting books i've read are those which take place on the homefront. i guess the best realizations are those which hit close to home, or those which take place there. i'm yet to discover what staying at home can do to my perspective. i've been saying home too much haven't i.
